Online Time
Total time spent online is counted from each participant's mission start time (see below) until the end of the event. In all cases, the event end time is defined as Dec. 30, 23:59 UTC. Any participant who exceeds a total of 30 hours of logged-in time during the period between their mission start time and the mission end time will be disqualified.
Definition of mission start time
If you accept the Mayhem Mission at any point before Dec. 26, 00:00 UTC, your mission start time is defined as Dec. 26 at 00:00 UTC.
If you accept the Mayhem Mission at any point after Dec. 26 00:00 UTC, your mission start time is defined as the moment when you accepted the mission.
If you abandon the Mayhem Mission and later re-accept the Mayhem Mission at any point after Dec. 26 00:00 UTC, your mission start time is defined as the moment when you re-accepted the mission.

Outposts added to City of Dreams.
- These outposts feature full access to storage, repair, trade and auction systems.
- They are located in and around popular mob spawns to increase the speed in which you can hunt your favorite mobs. Take some time to fly or drive around COD to find them all. Aprox (15 new outposts have been added)
National Guard Helicopter Pilots deployed to City of Dreams and the Arctic.
- The National Guard have been deployed to the City of Dreams and the Arctic in an effort to add extra security against the wild creatures that have been attacking locals. You can find helicopter pilots that will take you anywhere you need to go free of charge. Take some time to explore COD to find all the new teleporter locations (aprox 5 locations added)
National Guard disburses rioters from London Backlot
- In an effort to make the streets safe for shoppers, the national guard have executed operation Winklepicker and have successfully removed all rioters from the London backlot. Shopping around the Funky Junction is now safe once again!

Rent has been abolished
- The powers that be have decided that rent prices were too high! As a result, ROCKtropia estates are now free of any rental costs. This rent removal only applies to bars and shops at the moment because they are the only estates that are fully functional. When the apartments get fixed (Next VU), they will share in the same reduction.
Item block removed from the Arctic
- In an effort to help combat the ongoing Thing infection, the National Guard has been instructed to permit locals to import weapons, armors, vehicles and other items from any other planet to utilize in the Arctic.

Deer-A-Pooloza!
- It seems like the deer population have been listening to alot of Barry White music lately and as a result, the deer population has exploded in parts of city of dreams. Do your part and help control the deer population.
Space landing port location incorrect.
-When arriving from space, you will land in and around Evil Cathedral. By the next VU, you should land around Club NEVERDIE in City of Dreams.

It’s time once again for Planet Calypso’s annual winter hunting extravaganza - Merry Mayhem! This year’s event features an expanded prize pool with new prizes - including valuable Calypso Land Deeds - new creatures, and updated rules. Running over five days between Christmas and New Year’s, Merry Mayhem is among the most exciting and popular events in all of Entropia Universe. So grab your best gear and join in the Mayhem!
Event Dates
Dec. 21: Skill chipping is no longer allowed for Mayhem participants. The Mayhem Mission becomes available from the NPC Carl Tucker in Port Atlantis.
Dec. 26: Competition opens at 00:00 UTC. Kills are registered. Final category qualification happens upon first kill.
Dec. 30: Competition ends 23:59 UTC. Kills are no longer registered. You may no longer get the Mayhem mission.
Jan. 1: Skill chipping is allowed again.
Jan. 13: Merry Mayhem Mission can be turned in to Carl Tucker. Once the mission is turned in, participant receives a Mayhem Participation Diploma. Winners and prize announcement, including the top 100 list for all categories, with points and time.
Competition StructureRegistration - The mission system will be used to track the Merry Mayhem event. The Mayhem mission is available from the NPC Carl Tucker, located in Port Atlantis. This mission will track kill points and each participant’s category. The mission will be available starting on Dec. 21, but event kills will not register before Dec. 26.
Don’t forget to get the mission!Participants can register for the Mayhem mission up until the 29th Dec 18:00 UTC.
Do not abandon the mission! If a participant abandons the Mayhem mission, all event points accumulated up to that time will be forfeited. Participants can then receive the mission a new, and restart the event with zero event points.
Categories- Merry Mayhem offers four categories to accommodate participants of varying profession levels. Category qualification will be based upon a participant's highest Professional Standing from the following qualification list:

Participants will initially be sorted into one of these four categories upon registration for the Mayhem mission. The final category qualification will happen when the participant first kills an event mob once the event starts on Dec. 26.
If a participant’s highest professional standing increases after accepting the Mayhem mission (but before the event start time) and would place the participant into a higher category, the participant will compete in the higher category for the Mayhem event.
Participants will remain in the category for which they qualified at the start of the event on Dec. 26, even if skill gains result in promotion to a higher professional standing.

For armor prizes, winners will receive armor parts that match their avatar gender.
Item Naming Rights - these prizes allow the winner to choose the name of a new item soon to be released on Planet Calypso. Winners will be contacted by the Calypso development team for the desired item name.
All Merry Mayhem participants get a Merry Mayhem Participation Diploma when the mission is handed in to Carl Tucker, at any point after Jan 13th. Additionally, each participant finishing in the top 15 in one of the four categories will receive a special Merry Mayhem Diploma.
Rules
All participants MUSTregister for the Mayhem mission by visiting the NPC Carl Tucker in Port Atlantis. Kills of event mobs by participants who have not registered for the Mayhem mission, or who have abandoned the Mayhem mission will not be counted.
During the five day event period, a participant may compete for no more than a total of 30 hours. Participants may allocate these 30 hours however they wish during the event period, as long as the total playing time does not exceed 30 hours in total.
Please note that online session time is counted from the moment a participant submits their login and password information, up until the end of the 20 second logout countdown (even if the ‘Exit Now’ button is pressed when logging out).
Skill chipping (in or out) is not allowed between Dec. 21 12:00 UTC and Dec. 31 12:00 UTC for participants in the Mayhem event.
Kill points are awarded to the participant that inflicts the most damage to a killed creature.
Participants’ final event category is established once the event starts on Dec. 26.
Once the event is in progress, all participants remain in the designated event category, regardless of any professional standing advancement that may occur while participating in the event.
MindArk will monitor the competition closely to ensure a fair event for all participants. Any violation of the event rules stated here will result in immediate disqualification.
Play responsibly. MindArk strongly recommends that participant's take regular breaks and get an extended rest period after long sessions online.
We have been working on fixing a long list of Bugs, but due to some internal issues, it appears our Bug Fixing update was Bugged.. Something is Really Buggered Up around here and We plan to get to the bugging bottom of it or Die trying!!!
We have been given a new deadline for a mini patch by which time we hope to have all put on our biggest Boots and Stamped on these bleeding Bugs for once and for all.

Gothenburg, Sweden, November 8th, 2011 – MindArk, developer of Entropia Universe, announced today that it will introduce a groundbreaking new Citizenship System. This system will provide planet-wide revenue sharing to participants, as well as a forthcoming political system that will allow users to influence the future development of the planet.
“The Citizenship System will have a strong impact on the social and virtual worlds industry”, said Jan Welter Timkrans, Chairman of MindArk, “Now people can make money using their game-playing skills and by engaging in the micro transactions economy. They can both share in the revenues of their favourite world and help decide its future via the political system! “
The new system will allow participants of Entropia Universe to acquire a Land Lot deed. This deed grants holders citizenship on Planet Calypso, along with political voting rights. Citizens of Planet Calypso will receive a share in the planet partner Gross Revenue. Based on Planet Calypso’s performance over the last twelve months, the potential ROI (Return of Investment) of such shares is expected to be between 27% - 30% per year.
Jan Welter Timkrans: “So far, land management in Entropia Universe has been a very exclusive thing, as the market price for land area deeds have ranged from $5,000 on the low end, to upwards of $500,000. Now, participants of all levels and budgets can manage a piece of an entire virtual world for $100 USD – less than the price of two regular PC games. The Citizenship System brings a new era in MMO and Virtual World participation, something people have been crying out for. It will bring value to people who are passionate about games and global online culture.”
The new Citizenship System will showcase the economics of a successful Planet Partner on the Entropia Universe platform. Planet Calypso is a profitable Virtual world. It is the oldest of the planets in Entropia Universe, has over 1 million registered users and over $ 400,000,000 USD per year in user-to-user transactions.
In total, sixty thousand (60,000) Land Lot deeds will be created, each representing a 100 square meter plot on Planet Calypso. Starting on November 8, 2011, batches of these deeds will be offered on the Entropia Universe auction. Each Land Lot deed will have a start-bid price and a buyout price of 1000 PEDs ($100 USD). The Land Lot deeds will be implemented as stackable items, and will be made available in single units, as well as in stacks of 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100. Batches will continue to be offered on the auction until the entire sixty thousands deeds have been sold.
Each Land Lot deed entitles the holder to a share of the 50% planet partner Gross Revenue generated by Planet Calypso. Payouts of revenue share dividends to deed holders will be made once per week, as opposed to once per year or once per month for many other investments!"
The success and profitability of the planet will determine the revenue received as a land lot deed holder. If Calypso becomes more popular, the ROI will be higher; similarly, if the popularity of Calypso decreases, the ROI would also decrease. First revenue payouts are planned for the beginning of December 2011.
Once every six months, audited figures will be presented on MindArk’s homepage so that deed holders can verify their revenue share payouts.
Current land area deed holders on Calypso will be entitled to one free land lot deed. This does not include deeds for claim battle areas, houses, apartments, shops or sub-divided areas, only Outback Land Areas (OLAs). Treasure Island, FOMA, Crystal Palace and Medusa’s Head will receive one deed, issued to the main estate manager. Management of existing Outback Land Areas will remain unaffected.
Land Lot Deed holders will have the opportunity to take part in a Calypso Citizenship land grab. Certain areas will be opened on Calypso where deed holders can stake out their land plots. This system development is scheduled to begin in 2012.
Land Lot Deed holders will be able to build house(s) on the plot(s) they have staked out. (Minimum of 9 plots in a 3x3 format suitable for a structure). This system development is scheduled to begin in 2013.
Additionally, a comprehensive political system is planned that will allow Land Lot Deed holders to become directly involved with decisions affecting the future development of Calypso, with voting power relative to the number of Land Lot Deeds held. This system development is also scheduled to begin in 2012.
